Change network card mac address

Since there are programs with serial numbers tied to network card mac address it might be useful to change it.
There are some fancy GUI programs for this but it’s faster from terminal:

ifconfig en0 lladdr X:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX

And that’s it…

    can u tell me how change my NIC mac address on 10.6.5?
    i try this and many other things but i can successfull!
    i try it on ideneb 10.5.8 and osx retail 10.6 but … faild.
    please show a way to change my mac address.

    … I can NOT successfull to change my mac address with this way and other method that found in web.

  3. It’s worth noting, that you cannot change your Airport address if your either connected to a network or if airport is disabled.

    To go into this “state” you can connect to a fake network and then cancel (or let it timeout).

    but, still i can NOT change my mac address of ethernet (NOT Wireless)…
    i try it in 3 different system ( all of them are Hackintosh with iDeneb 10.5.8, SL retail 10.6 and 10.6.5) and its not work.
    i search in web and hackintosh forums and some people same problem, that can not success to change mac address on SL with this command and other programs.
    here its my Q?
    if try to change mac address permanently in windows os, need hack registry and save it.
    here in mac os x its possible ?
    where is save mac address data and how change it?
